Arwa Owais, DDS

Arwa Owais, DDS is a Board-Certified Pediatric Dentist with 25 years of experience. She is an honors graduate of The University of Iowa College of Dentistry, an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Owais is also an American Board-Certified Dental Public Health Specialist. Additionally, she is currently the Vice President of the Pediatric Oral Health Research Group at The American and International Association of Dental Research. Dr. Owais has extensive experience with all aspects of pediatric dentistry for newborns, infants, children, and adolescents. She has extensive experience in treating children with special health care needs, medically compromised children, and children with orofacial clefts. Above all, she is a mother of four children, the youngest twins are Texans and were born prematurely. Her practice philosophy is that each child is unique and they deserve the best quality dental care they and their family expect. She has an open-door policy and continuous direct communication with parents. Dr. Owais’ care delivery is based on the prevention of dental disease, medical management of dental caries, and treatment of children in the most comfortable and conservative approach that builds a positive attitude toward dental health. She is certified in laser dentistry for soft and hard tissues, including tongue tie revision, upper lip tie frenectomy, and is a Solea dental laser provider. Additionally, she is also an Invisalign-certified specialist and works with children and their families to stop harmful habits such as thumb sucking. She is a Basic Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider and is licensed to provide dental care under sedation and general anesthesia for children requiring more extensive dental treatment.

Rodrigo F. Viecilli, DDS, PhD

Rodrigo Viecilli, DDS, PhD trained as an undergraduate in Aerospace Engineering, also known as Rocket Science! After dental school he completed his orthodontic training, along with a PhD in Oral Biology (Biomechanics) from Indiana University. He is one of two orthodontists from Indiana to win the prestigious Milo Hellman Award, the highest North American research honor in Orthodontics. He is the only one to ever complete all American Board of Orthodontics patient case requirements within two years, during his Residency. He was approved as a prospective member of the Angle Society of Orthodontists, Midwest Component and has been board certified since 2011. Dr. Viecilli is the inventor of the Smartarch, the most sophisticated orthodontic wire ever designed, currently commercialized by the largest orthodontic company in the world. He loves the challenge of treating patients of all ages and has extensive experience with Invisalign and surgically assisted accelerated Orthodontics and Lingual Orthodontics. He strives to provide the best aesthetic outcome for his patients utilizing the most efficient and scientific treatment possible. Dr. Viecilli enjoys cooking, music, weightlifting, traveling and reading philosophy. He was also a ranked chess player for many years in Brazil, winning several local championships.

Traci Simons, DDS, MS

Traci T. Simons, DDS, MS, was born in the Black Hills of South Dakota, but has lived most of her life as a Texan. She spent most of her childhood in El Paso and stayed there to attend the University of Texas at El Paso, majoring in biology. After receiving a Bachelor’s of Science from UTEP, she continued her education and accepted admission at Baylor College of Dentistry where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During her time in dental school, Dr. Traci held leadership roles and was an active participant in outreach projects. She knew early on that she had a passion for children and wanted to specialize in pediatric dentistry. She went on to complete her two-year pediatric residency through Baylor College of Dentistry/Texas A&M University System in Dallas. The program included training at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital and Children’s Medical Center of Dallas, where she focused on the needs of special needs patients and those medically compromised. She completed her Masters of Science in Pediatric Dentistry in 1999 and moved to Austin. After a few years in private practice, she was able to volunteer with Faith in Practice to Guatemala to treat underserved children in their community. She has continued to volunteer throughout her 20 year career in various ways to help those in need and less fortunate. She remains active in her church and community, and serves on the board of Young Men Service League.

Dr Traci looks forward to building relationships and trust with both her patients and their families. She believes a positive dental experience is an important part of childhood and she is intentional in making this a reality for her patients. When she is not helping make healthy smiles, Dr. Traci is spending time with her own five children. She absolutely loves being a mom! She enjoys running on the beautiful trails Austin has to offer, and has completed four marathons. She likes to travel with her friends and family, spend time at the lake, snow ski, shop and try new restaurants. She is excited to join Rising Stars Pediatric Dentistry in the Steiner Ranch community.

Nevin K. Allan, DMD, MSD

Nevin K. Allan, DMD, MSD, a native Texan, obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from The University of Texas at Austin. She then went on to attend Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where she earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine as well as a certificate in Public Health. Following dental school, Dr. Allan moved to Louisville, Kentucky where she worked for one year as a general dentist at a local family practice prior to completing her pediatric dental residency at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. During her residency, Dr. Allan received extensive training in pediatric conscious oral sedation, treatment of children with special needs, behavior management, and hospital dentistry. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Texas Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Dental Association.

Dr. Allan believes in taking the time to put her patients at ease while fostering lasting relationships with each and every child and parent. Her goal is to ensure that everyone feels welcome, encouraged, and relaxed during their visit. She feels fortunate to spend her days encouraging children and adolescents to improve their oral health. In her spare time, Dr. Allan enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking with her husband, running on Lady Bird Lake Trail, listening to music, and trying all of the great food Austin has to offer.
